SAM MILLER, MA RP

Sam Miller is a registered psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience. He has a particular expertise in trauma counselling, and a keen understanding of the psychology of business and the workplace.

Sam works closely with each client to help them identify and understand the psychological component of their enterprise risk, and then to develop plans, protocols and training to help mitigate and manage those risk and recover well should a critical incident or traumatic event occur.

There is no cookie-cutter approach. Every organization has a unique culture, and a unique set of risks and business recovery priorities. Sam tailors his services to best address each client’s specific needs. His approach is founded on a deep understanding of the manifestations of stress and on his extensive knowledge of effective stress-management techniques and trauma recovery techniques

Sam is a trusted advisor and an engaging speaker who has delivered workshops, seminars and/or counselling services to an impressive and diverse array of organizations.

He is a published author of articles on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the human element in coping with major disasters, first-responder stress reactions, and the importance of resilience in enterprise risk management

Sam is a Toronto, Ontario-based independent consultant who additionally serves on a number of trauma response teams for some of North America’s largest Employee Assistance Program Providers.
